To become a Taxi Driver in Plymouth you must obtain a Taxi License from Plymouth City Council. Contact us and we can handle this whole process for you.
From 1st April 2024 you are no longer required to take the Knowledge of Plymouth test to become a Taxi Driver in Plymouth. This reduces the time it takes to become a Taxi Driver. There is still other criteria to meet and we estimated the whole process can be completed within 4-6 weeks.
Being a Taxi Driver allows you to be your own boss with flexible working hours. Allowing you to fit your working hours around your busy schedule with great earning potential.
This depends on how many hours you work and what shifts you choose, but honestly you can earn between £20 – £35 per hour locally which can increase with out of town work.
To become a Taxi Driver in Plymouth you must apply to Plymouth City Council for your First Application complete a DBS, Medical and a short Driving Test (A Spoken English Test may be required.) Total costs to you are £310.00, but all costs are redeemable (ask for details when applying).
